Thought Leadership

Why the leadership crisis is so critical, and what you need to do to prepare your organization.
Inspirational Quotes

Things are changing fast and changing continuously. Adding to the turbulence, two huge demographic trends will hit the marketplace for talent: global aging and the coming of age of Generation Y, also known as the Net Generation. As noted by Beck and Cowan in Spiral Dynamics: "Business issues are more complex and multi-dimensional today. The environment in which critical decisions are now being made is more chaotic, faster paced, and less forgiving. More CEO's and senior level managers are aware of the incompleteness of their own knowledge and insight base, particularly where human dynamics are concerned. What they learned in MBA programs or executive seminars is no longer sufficient or even particularly relevant."

Big challenges require big ideas and collaborative solutions. We have the opportunity to create a future in which all people can live in dignity and even thrive. What is required is what Mary O'Hara-Devereaux calls "disruptive innovations". She states: "Disruptive innovations are not engineered; they arise spontaneously, fueled by dynamic interactions between diverse people. They occur when people are motivated to think and act in new ways, and when there is a rich variety of ideas and perspectives." This is the foundational learning philosophy of Emerging Leaders Association. Please enjoy the resources found on this page.

"You can't make a renaissance person anymore, because the range of what you would need to do is just impossible. But you could assemble a renaissance team. The integrative thinkers rely on their "renaissance teams" to broaden salience, maintain sophisticated causality, and create a holistic architecture in their drive for creative resolution."

— Bruce Mau, renowned designer.

We first thought of presence as being fully conscious and aware in the present moment. Then we began to appreciate presence as deep listening, of being open beyond one's preconceptions and historical ways of making sense. We came to see the importance of letting go of old identities and the need to control and, making choices to serve the evolution of life. This is awareness that there is an emerging future that depends on us".

For the first time since the dawning of the industrial age, the only way to build a company that's fit for the future is to build one that's fit for human beings as well. This is your opportunity — to build a 21st century management model that truly elicits, honors, and cherishes human initiative, creativity, and passion — these tender, essential ingredients for business success in this new millennium.
